What’s Naot to Love?
Before I began working at Mar-Lou, I’ll be honest, I did not know a wide variety of shoe brands. Aside from big names like Steve Madden, Nike, New Balance, UGG, etc, I was embarrassingly naive regarding shoe-brand knowledge. I knew what shoes I liked and what shoes I didn’t like, and name brand didn’t hold a lot of meaning for me. Oh, how my life has changed. These last several months, I’ve become exponentially more familiar with shoe retailers, large and small. I’ve come to appreciate the comfort and quality product you receive when purchasing shoes from someone who really knows how to make them.
One brand that has perfected comfort and quality shoemaking is Naot. Prior to working at Mar-Lou I was unfamiliar with the Naot brand. This made me wonder how many of you might be unfamiliar with their story. If you’re currently asking yourself “what is Naot?”, keep reading, because they are a brand worth knowing about.
Naot shoes are handmade in Israel. The Naot shoe business sky rocketed from a one room workshop to a world-renowned shoe business over the course of 50 years. They carry a staunch belief that comfort and style go hand-in-hand, and this belief is exemplified in every shoe produced. The footbed in Naot shoes is unique in that its shape is a negative imprint of the foot. This helps to decrease or eliminate the “breaking in” period you sometimes have with new shoes. Naot compares their footbeds to the imprint a foot leaves when stepping in sand. Crafted with natural materials including cork and latex, and featuring gorgeous European-inspired design, Naot shoes are an effotless blend of comfort, quality and style. What’s Naot to love?
